STOORWORM · effective 25 September 2026
STOORWORM is a game made by Bendigo Games, an independent developer based in Australia. This policy covers the STOORWORM app for iPhone and Android. Contact: support@bendigogames.com.
The short version
STOORWORM asks you for nothing. No account, no email address, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. It is played alone; nothing you do is ever shown to another player.
It does count anonymous play statistics — that the app was opened, how long a session lasted, which version and phone it ran on — so the game can be improved. Those describe the game being played, never who is playing it. You can switch them off in Settings: the PLAY STATS switch.
Your runs, your Bones and your settings stay on your phone.
At a glance
| What | Leaves your phone? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Standard app-usage information the analytics service records by itself: first open, session start and length, app version, phone model, operating-system version, language | Yes, unless you switch stats off | To see how much the game is actually played, and on what, so it can be improved |
| A random app-instance identifier issued by the analytics service | Yes, with the statistics | So one install’s sessions count as one; it is not your advertising identifier, and it resets if you reinstall |
| An approximate location (country, sometimes region), derived by Google from a masked IP address | Yes, as part of the statistics | To know roughly where players are; never precise, never from location services |
| Your run in progress, the Bones you have banked, your settings, and which tips you have seen | No — kept on your phone | So your run and settings survive closing the app |
| Name, email, contacts, photos, files, precise location, microphone, camera, advertising identifier, purchase history, crash reports | Never collected at all. | |
Anonymous play statistics
The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase, and only its automatic collection: the app-usage information in the table above. The game sends no events of its own, nothing about your runs, nothing you type (there is nowhere to type), and nothing about other apps, your contacts, photos or files.
No advertising identifier, and no tracking. The iPhone app is built with the version of the analytics library that has the advertising-identifier code removed, and on Android advertising-ID collection is disabled and the permission to read it is stripped from the app. Nothing links the statistics to a name, an email or an account — there is none — and nothing follows you to another app or website. That is why STOORWORM never shows an App Tracking Transparency prompt: there is nothing to ask permission for.
As with any request over the internet, your IP address is visible to Google’s servers while the app talks to them. The app never reads or stores it. Google masks it and derives a general location from it — country, sometimes region — and that approximate figure is all the developer ever sees. STOORWORM never uses your phone’s location services and never asks for location permission.
Apart from these statistics the app makes no network connections: the game, its art, its music and its sound all run from the phone, and it plays fully offline. Statistics simply wait until the phone is next online, or are never sent if stats are off.
Switching it off
Open Settings from the title screen. PLAY STATS switches between ON and OFF. Off is remembered, and while it is off the app sends no analytics at all. PRIVACY POLICY, in the same place, opens this page.
Statistics are on by default. The game plays identically either way.
What stays on your phone
Kept in the app’s own private storage on your phone, and never sent anywhere:
- the run in progress: the island, the places you have been, your worm and its mutations, and the monk’s chronicle of it;
- the Bones you have banked across every run;
- your settings: the control scheme, left-handed controls, sound effects, music, vibration, and whether stats are on;
- which of the in-game tips you have already seen, and whether the app has already asked you for a rating in this version.
Deleting the app deletes all of it. There is no cloud save, so there is nothing of yours anywhere else to delete. If your phone’s own system backup (iCloud or Google) is switched on, it may include this data along with every other app’s, under your account, not ours.
Ratings
After you win an island, and only once you have finished a number of places, the app may ask the operating system to show its standard rating prompt, at most once per version. That prompt belongs to Apple or Google: whatever you choose in it goes to them under their policies, and the developer only ever sees the public ratings and reviews on the store.
Third parties
One: Google, which processes the anonymous statistics as the developer’s service provider under its own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. That data is held on Google’s servers, which may be outside your country and outside Australia. Nothing is shared with anyone else — no advertisers, no data brokers — and nothing is sold.
The app stores themselves — the Apple App Store and Google Play — may collect information about downloads under their own policies. The developer receives no personal information from either.
Children
STOORWORM is not directed at children under 13 — it is a cartoon-violent game about a worm that eats people — and it collects no personal information from anyone. The anonymous statistics identify an app install, never a person.
Your rights
Data-protection laws such as the GDPR, the CCPA and the Australian Privacy Act give you rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you. The developer holds none that could be tied to you, so there is nothing to look up; switching stats off stops any further statistics from your phone, and deleting the app removes everything stored on it. If you want this confirmed in writing, or want to ask anything else, email support@bendigogames.com.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version adds a feature that needs data — the revised policy will be posted on this page with a new date, before that version is released.
