Common questions
How do I play? Pull back anywhere on the screen and let go: your blade flies the other way and cuts everything in its lane. Every kill in one dash multiplies the next. Two quick strikes in a row are free; a third straight after leaves you winded for a second. The whole of it, with every kind of enemy you have met, is under How to play in the settings (the gear on the title screen).
My flick didn't do anything. A flick let go before the blade is ready is dropped, and the game tells you with a short buzz. Watch the two pips under the blade: when they're spent, wait for the glint.
There is no sound. Check the physical silent switch, then the Sound switch in the game's settings.
The shaking and flashing are too much. Turn on Reduce motion in the game's settings. The game also follows your phone's own Reduce Motion setting.
The leaderboard
Where is the leaderboard? On the title screen. It is the world leaderboard for the main mode: your best runs are ranked against every other player's. PANELS, CLIMB and Legacy keep their bests on your phone.
Can I change my name on the leaderboard? Yes: Settings → Player name. Other players see it, so names are checked for offensive words. If you see a name that shouldn't be there, press and hold it on the leaderboard to report it.
Can I stay off the leaderboard? Yes: turn off Leaderboard in Settings. Your runs and name then stay on your phone.
Progress
My progress disappeared. Your stats, bests and achievements live only on your phone, so deleting and reinstalling the app clears them, and there is no copy anywhere for us to restore. Your phone's own backup (iCloud or a computer) may bring them back if you restore the whole phone from it.
Does it need the internet? No. DASH plays offline. When it is online it sends your main-mode runs to the world leaderboard and fetches the board, along with crash reports and anonymous play statistics; offline, it keeps playing and catches up later.
Privacy
What DASH sends, and why, is in the privacy policy. To have your leaderboard data removed, email support@bendigogames.com with the player number shown in Settings.
