GUST · hold anywhere, never touch it

Something broken, confusing, or worth saying? Email support@bendigogames.com and you will get a reply. It helps to include your phone model, its iOS version, and the version shown at the bottom of Settings.

Playing

How do I play? Hold a finger anywhere on the screen. The air pushes the seed away from your finger, harder the closer it is. Let go and it drifts. Steer it down the ravine between the walls and thorns, and never touch it.

What ends a run? Two things. A thorn costs a petal, and you start with three; lose the last one and the run is over. And night falls from above, a little faster as you go: if it catches the seed, the run ends.

How do I score more? Fly through pollen. Each grain caught soon after the last one raises your combo, up to ×5; wait too long and it starts again at ×1. Every ten metres deeper scores a point too.

I saw a petal floating in the ravine. That is a spare petal. They are very rare and never turn up early in a run. Catch one and it adds a petal, and petals can stack up to ten.

What is Drift? Drift, on the title screen, is a cave with no night and nothing to lose. Bumping a wall costs nothing and the drift never ends: follow the seed down side tunnels and into quiet chambers for as long as you like.

What are Gust and Lumen? The two looks. Gust is a dandelion seed at dusk; Lumen is a jellyfish of light in the deep. Switch between them in Settings. The game underneath is identical, so your bests and achievements carry over.

I left in the middle of a run. The run waits for you: the title screen offers to resume it, or to start a new one.

Sound

There is no sound. Check the volume, then Settings in the game, which has its own Sound and Music switches. GUST plays its sound even with the silent switch on, as music apps do; turn the volume down if you'd rather it didn't.

Your progress

Where is my progress kept? On your phone only: bests, stats, achievements and settings. There is no account and no cloud save, so deleting the app clears them.

Does it need the internet? No. GUST plays offline. When it is online it fetches one small word list used to check player names, and nothing else.

Can I change my name on the leaderboard? Yes: Settings → Player name. Names are checked for offensive words.

Privacy
