Pocket music theory
Pocket Theory
Every scale, chord and mode, and how they connect. Tap anything to follow it, the way you'd fall down a good encyclopedia, and end up somewhere you didn't expect.

Worked out, not written out
Every page is calculated from the notes: 66 scales, 38 chords, every key and interval, all spelled the way a musician would spell them. Nothing is hand-copied, so nothing is wrong in one place and right in another.
Follow the thread
Every mention is a link. A scale shows the chords built on it and the modes hiding inside it. A chord shows every key it lives in and what to swap it for. A key names its relatives and gives you twelve progressions to play.
Hear it
Play any scale or chord. Hold a drone under a mode to hear what makes it different, then compare it with the scale it comes from. Hear a key's cadence resolve.
In your pocket
A tuner, a metronome and tap tempo are one tap away on every page. Piano, guitar fretboard or neck. Six looks and forty-two palettes. It all works offline.
More of it
Every screen here is the app itself, captured from the browser version.
